IAFL European Chapter Meeting, Paris, France
Event date: 04 Dec 2024
Paris, one of the most famous cities in the world and a kaleidoscope of culture, art, beauty and history. A blend of both old and new architecture, museums, the romantic River Seine, street cafés and, of course, the chic Parisians, combine to make it a vibrant and fascinating place to experience. The Chapter held its inaugural meeting in 1989, and we are delighted to be back in La Ville-Lumière” (the City of Light) 35 years later to celebrate our anniversary.
As well as a fascinating education program, Fellows will once again be able to get involved with a Community Support Activity - Stuff a bag for Barreau des Rues

Information on the Community Support Activity - Stuff a bag for Barreau des Rues on Friday 6 December at 12:30 - 13:15
Every day, lawyers are called upon to serve the most vulnerable members of our society. Established in 2017, the Barreau des Rues embodies the principles of dignity and humanity enshrined in the oath taken by lawyers. This initiative seeks to transform this oath into action by providing pro bono legal assistance to those who feel abandoned by the law.
From its inception, the Barreau des rues has mobilized the lawyers of the Paris Bar to deliver essential support to individuals experiencing homelessness or social exclusion. In addition to providing clothing and basic necessities, the organization actively collaborates with various associations to advocate for the rights of the most disadvantaged. This includes outreach efforts, individual legal appeals, and training sessions for volunteers from partner organizations to ensure they are well-informed about recent legal developments.
We invite IAFL Fellows and lawyer guests to contribute to their annual Christmas collection. In the weeks leading up to the holiday season, they gather chocolates, sweets, and other treats, which are then distributed by our partner organizations—such as Emmaüs, Secours Populaire, and Aurore—to those in need.
We kindly request donations of chocolates, dried cakes, candies, and similar items, preferably in individual or divisible packaging to help distribution. Your generosity can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who are often overlooked.
Our co-presidents, Gregory Groleas and Lilly Diener, along with fellow members Anne-Sophie Laguens, Maxime Clery Melin, Pierre-François Rousseau, and myself are eager to share more about the mission of Barreau des rues and the impact of your contributions.
Thank you for your support.
Alice Meier-Bourdeau, IAFL European Chapter Vice President
