IAFL are very sorry to announce that, due to Coronavirus COVID-19, the IAFL Introduction to International Family Law Conference has been cancelled.
The conference is designed principally for local lawyers and academics from Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, however it is hoped that as many IAFL Fellows as possible will also attend. We have found that these conferences have been greatly appreciated by the local legal community wherever we have held them and have been a great way for us to get to know local lawyers, judges and academics who are involved in family law. It is a good way to show local lawyers the work that we do in IAFL.
The five speakers for this IAFL Introduction to International Family Law conference are Michael Hellner (Sweden), William Longrigg (England), Isabelle Rein-Lescastereyres (France), Fredric Renström (Sweden) and Tom Sasser (Florida, USA). The focus of the conference will be on private international law and will include the following topics:-
- What is private international law to each of the panel
- Divorce law: applicable law, jurisdiction
- Children: jurisdiction, abductions, alimony and maintenance
- Financial issues: jurisdiction, applicable law on division of assets, marriage contracts
Registration will open soon. If you would like more information about the conference, please contact Ali Massey at firstname.lastname@example.org.
