Profile

Judy is a family lawyer based in Nairobi, Kenya. She was conferred the rank of Senior Counsel in 2020 and was the first woman to be inducted into the Roll of Honour of the Law Society of Kenya in 2013. She is a trained Family Mediator and is also accredited to the Mediation Accreditation Committee of the Judiciary. Judy was part of the Chief Justice’s committee to set up the Family Division in the High Court of Kenya at Nairobi and has been a member of the Bar-Bench committee. Judy was also extensively involved in the drafting of the current Matrimonial Property Act and the Marriage Act. She has provided legal opinions and legal awareness both locally and internationally.  Judy’s practice encompasses advice, mediation and litigation on matters of parental responsibility including custody, contact and support of children as well as divorce, matrimonial property, estate planning and succession.
