Join us for the IAFL’s European Chapter meeting 2026 in Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia. Set between the mountains and the sea, the city is a wonderful celebration of architecture, galleries, museums, historical attractions, incredible restaurants and thriving nightlife.

Meeting Hotel

The meeting will be held at the 5-star Majestic Hotel & Spa, in the heart of the city’s most prestigious district, surrounded by boutiques, art and fine dining and just a block away from Gaudi’s world-famous La Pedrera (Casa Milà). The Wellness Centre, including an indoor swimming pool and fitness centre will be open from 7am to accommodate those who like an early start and, at the other end of the day, the hotel bar will stay open until 1am for those who like a late finish!

6 October update:

The IAFL room block at the Majestic Hotel is full and the hotel is unable to give us further rooms. There are still suites/apartments available on the website (Majestic Hotel) or there is a good selection of hotels within close walking distance:

Cancellation/Amendment for reservations at the Majestic made via Judy Lane ICS:
You may cancel or amend your booking by emailing IAFL@judylaneics.com. Our policy is to respond, confirming receipt of your cancellation/amendment, within 48 hours. If not received, please telephone Michele Williams +44 1327 858216 (UK office hours).

Penalties (for cancellation or reduction in room nights) for bookings at the Majestic made via Judy Lane ICS:
Up until 7 January 2026: No penalty
From 8 January 2026: Full-stay penalty
The full-stay penalty will also apply to no-shows (non-arrival on the day of your booking).
If penalty charges are incurred, the hotel will charge the credit card you have provided as a guarantee with this booking form.

19 September: In order to give all existing Fellows of the IAFL a chance to register for meetings of the Academy, the IAFL Management Committee has unanimously agreed that registration for meetings should be open to Fellows for 3 weeks from the date of registration opening. This means that Lawyer Guests cannot register for the meeting in Barcelona until Monday 13 October. Requests for lawyer guest registration will be handled in order of request, please direct any queries to the IAFL Executive Director.

The IAFL is committed to expanding its reach in jurisdictions that are currently under and un-represented within its Fellowship and to making meetings more accessible to all. With these aims in mind, the IAFL is pleased to offer reduced registration fees to attendees from jurisdictions that qualify for IAFL Tiered Dues.
The discount only applies to those registering at the early bird rate which is available up to 17 December 2025. After this date, the regular fee will apply.

DISC Assessment

In preparation for the session 'Understanding Behavioural Styles to Manage Yourself and Work Effectively with Others' you will need to complete a short behavioural styles assessment.

The Thomas DISC PPA is a behavioural styles questionnaire which takes 7–10 minutes to complete. There are no wrong or right answers. At the conference, you will be trained to understand the DISC model and provided with your results from your completed questionnaire. The results of your questionnaire are confidential and will not be shared with anyone. You will also receive information about how you can achieve positive outcomes by using DISC in your interactions with colleagues and clients.

You will receive an email from Thomas Hub, invitations@thomasinternational.net containing the link and instructions for completing the questionnaire. Please check your junk or spam folder if you do not see it in your inbox. The subject of the email will read: Invitation to Complete Thomas PPA. We kindly ask that you complete the questionnaire as soon as possible, and no later than 12:00pm (BST), 10 October. This new deadline is for reasons beyond our control as the report needs to be expedited.

Registration Cancellation
Registration cancellations received in writing to iafl@judylaneics.com will be accepted until 17 December 2025 and fees refunded, less a USD 100.00 administrative fee per person. This includes social events and tours fees, but only if the Academy is not responsible for any charges or fees due to the cancellation.

Registration fees for cancellations received after 17 December 2025 will not be refunded. If the IAFL is able to re-sell any cancelled social function tickets or tours to another delegate, these fees may be refunded but only after the Meeting has taken place. Please email iafl@judylaneics.com to advise of your cancellation. No refunds will be made for non- attendance at the Meeting.

Note that registrations are unique to the individual named on the registration form and are not interchangeable or transferable, either in part or whole to another person.

If in the unlikely event the Meeting is cancelled, any travel and accommodation costs will not be refunded.

Visa Requirements
It is the responsibility of each attendee to check visa requirements for entry into Spain and to organize a visa if required. Information can be found on the Government of Spain website. Please allow sufficient time for the relevant application process. The organizers will not accept liability for non-approval of visas and any request for a refund of registration fees paid will be considered under the meeting cancellation terms and conditions (see above).
