IAFL Events

Join us for the IAFL’s Asia Pacific Chapter 2026 meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  The city’s glittering skyline, historic temples, unmatched dining and next-level shopping combined with a wealth of cultures, history and heritage provides a truly vibrant destination. 

Prior to the main meeting, on Tuesday 19 May the IAFL Asia Pacific Chapter will organize a Symposium jointly with the Malaysian Bar Council on the topic of Burning Issues and Trends in International Family Law.  Full details, can be found here. You can register for the Symposium when completing the registration form for the main meeting. 

Meeting Hotel
The IAFL has reserved a limited number of rooms for the nights of 18 – 23 May 2026 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. If you plan to arrive earlier or leave later, please book the dates that are available and put a note in “Special Requests” box for the missing nights you require or contact  IAFL@judylaneics.com.  

Room Rates & Reservations
The below rates apply, subject to availability, to reservations made via Judy Lane ICS (official accommodation agent) by 16 April 2026. A valid credit card will be required to confirm your reservation and must not expire prior to 31 October 2026.  The hotel will charge for your full stay upon arrival. Please do not contact the hotel direct to make your reservation.
Rates quoted are per room per night in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) including breakfast and wi-fi, excluding 8% service charge and MYR10 per room per night tourism tax:

Single occupancy: MYR 715
Double occupancy: MYR 792

Check-in: from 15:00
Check-out: by 12:00

Cancellation/Amendment of your Hotel Booking
You may cancel or amend your booking by emailing IAFL@judylaneics.com. Our policy is to respond, confirming receipt of your cancellation/amendment, within 48 hours.  If not received, please telephone Michele Williams +44 1327 858216 (UK office hours).

Penalties (for cancellation/reduction in room nights)
Up until 16 April 2026: No penalty
From 17 April 2026: Full-stay penalty
The full-stay penalty will also apply to no-shows (non-arrival on the day of your booking). Where penalties are due, the hotel will charge the credit card you have provided as a guarantee with this booking form.

* Tiered/Reduced Registration fees for Fellows
The IAFL is committed to expanding its reach in jurisdictions that are currently under and un-represented within its Fellowship and to making meetings more accessible to all. With these aims in mind, the IAFL is pleased to offer reduced registration fees to attendees from jurisdictions that qualify for IAFL Tiered Dues.

The discount only applies to those registering at the early bird rate which is available up to 8 April 2026. After this date, the regular fee will apply. Click here to view the list of qualifying countries.

** Lawyer Guests

A lawyer guest is a family lawyer who is not a Fellow of the IAFL. Anyone wishing to register as a lawyer guest should in the first instance email IAFL@judylaneics.com

Registration Cancellation

Registration cancellations received in writing to iafl@judylaneics.com will be accepted until 8 April 2026 and fees refunded, less a USD 100.00 administrative fee per person. This includes social events and tours fees only if the Academy is not responsible for any charges or fees due to the cancellation.

Registration fees for cancellations received after 8 April 2026 will not be refunded. If the IAFL is able to re-sell any cancelled social function tickets or tours to another delegate these fees may be refunded after the Meeting has taken place. Please email iafl@judylaneics.com. No refunds will be made for non-attendance at the Meeting.
 
Note that registrations are unique to the individual named on the registration form and are not interchangeable or transferable, either in part or whole to another person.

If in the unlikely event the Meeting is cancelled, any travel and accommodation costs will not be refunded.

 Visa Requirements

It is the responsibility of each attendee to check visa requirements for entry into Malaysia and to organize a visa if required.  Information can be found on the Immigration Dept of Malaysia website.  Please allow sufficient time for the relevant application process.  The organizers will not accept liability for non-approval of visas and any request for a refund of registration fees paid will be considered under the meeting cancellation terms and conditions (see above).
