IAFL Fellows and Family Lawyers from around the world may be interested in attending the 3rd International Surrogacy Forum in Cape Town, South Africa on 24 and 25 March 2025. 

After the successes of the first (Cambridge, 2019) and second (Copenhagen, 2023) Forum,
the Nordic Centre for Comparative and International Family Law (NorFam) is proud to
continue the trend of conferences in cities beginning with a ’C’. The 3rd International Surrogacy
Forum will take place in Cape Town, South Africa! As previously, it will be co-organised by the
International Academic of Family Lawyers (IAFL) and the American Bar Association (ABA)
Section of Family Law of the, who will be joined by the Law Faculty of the University of the
Western Cape and the leading South African law firm Miller du Toit Cloete Incorporated.

The venue is The President Hotel, located in the wonderful Bantry Bay area of Cape
Town. A contingent of rooms has been reserved at The President Hotel as well as at the nearby
Bantry Bay Suite Hotel. The conference fee will be app. USD 750 (not including the conference
dinner). Concessions will be available for participants from countries of the OECD’s DAC list of
ODA recipients (USD 350) as well as full-time academics (USD 200).

The conference will have a 1½-day educational programme, giving an update about the
developments on surrogacy around the globe, with a specific focus on African jurisdictions, as
well as empirical research on surrogacy and other issues relating to ART and parenthood.
