Attorney and Mediator in firm of Sobol Family Law, P.L.L.C, Brian has practiced primarily in family law for over 38 years. He specializes in high net worth estates but is equally adept handling smaller estate dissolution. He is ranked by Chambers and Partners Family/Matrimonial: High Net Worth Minnesota - Band one and is also a diplomate of the American College of Family Trial Lawyer, a by invitation only group of 100 of the top trial lawyers in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He is also one of only 15 lawyers in Minnesota certified in family trial law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Brian has a bachelor’s degree in child psychology, summa cum laude, phi beta Kappa, and also also specializes in child custody matters, including jurisdictional issues under the Hague Convention. He has expertise in business valuation, real estate, spousal maintenance, contested antenuptial agreements, hidden and dissipated assets, and non-marital claims. Also has extensive appellate expertise and has successfully argued cases in both the Minnesota Court of Appeals and Minnesota Supreme Court. He is a past Administrative Vice President of the Minnesota Chapter of the AAML and served as Minnesota's national delegate to the Board of Governors from 2012 to 2019. His was 2002-2003 co-chair of the Hennepin County Bar Association Family Law Section. Has lectured on various domestic law topics and is also a qualified mediator.
