After five years as an Assistant Public Defender focusing exclusively on criminal defense, Ms. Hostetter has used her litigation experience to focus her practice solely on family law since 2000. She has been recognized many times for work in domestic relations. For several years running, she has been included in the annual list compilations of the top divorce lawyers in Best Lawyers in America, Washingtonian Magazine, Bethesda Magazine, and Maryland and D.C.'s Super Lawyers magazine's list of top 100 attorneys, Top 50 women attorneys, and Top 10 attorneys. She is a member of the bar in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Massachusetts. She is also collaboratively trained, a recognized and trusted mediator in family law matters, and an active participant in her local bar associations as a member, leader, and continuing legal education lecturer. Ms. Hostetter is the President of the International Academy of Family Lawyers September 2025 to September 2026 and has been a member of the IAFL Executive Committee for the past 6 years. She completed the Six Year Law Program at Boston University where she simultaneously earned a BA in Political Science summa cum laude and a JD in 1995.
