Profile

Marjet is specialized in international divorces. As a lawyer and mediator, she assists expats with their divorce, both foreigners living and working in the Netherlands and Dutch citizens living abroad. In the past she worked as a lecturer Private International Law (mostly international family law) at the University of Leiden and as a court clerk at the Court of Appeals in The Hague, section Family Law. She is now partner of SCG lawyers. Furthermore she is a deputy judge in the Court of Appeals in Amsterdam, Section Family law. She is a trained divorce mediator with and member of the vFAS (Dutch Association of Family and Inheritance lawyers and mediators) and a member of DIAL (Dutch Association of Child Abduction lawyers). She followed the postgraduate specialization course in International Family Law of the Institute for Mediation and Family Law Education (IMFO) and completed it summa cum laude As a regular publisher of professional journals, she has a particular interest and a profound knowledge of the international aspects of Family Law. Complicated financial and multi-jurisdictional cases of an international family breakdown are her expertise.
