Profile

Past President of the Virginia Chapter of the AAML with more than thirty-five years of Northern Virginia matrimonial and family law experience. He is especially gifted in representing parents and third parties in complex custody issues and contentious international custody cases. He is co-chair of the AAML's Domestic Violence Task Force Committee. Appointed to the Disciplinary Board by the Virginia Supreme Court and elected to serve on the Virginia State Bar Council and the Board of Governors of the Family Law Section. Also appointed by Governors Terry McAuliffe and Tim Kaine to Virginia's Child Support Guideline Review Panel. Currently serves on the Family Law Coalition, which is comprised of distinguished members of the Virginia Bar. Authored handbooks and articles and lectured at numerous Continuing Legal Education programs, including speaking on Third-Party Custody/De Facto Parent and also on Intimate Partner Violence at the 2015 AFCC/AAML Conference on Advanced Issues in Child Custody, as well as presenting throughout Virginia on various family law and legal ethics topics. He credits his fighting spirit and sense of justice to his father, who was a professional boxer and labor union leader.
