Donald G. Tye is a partner at Prince Lobel Tye, LLP, in Boston. He graduated from Tufts University and received M.S.W. and J.D. degrees from Washington University in St. Louis, and is a fellow of the AAML. He has more than 35 years’ experience as a trial attorney, guardian ad litem, master, mediator, conciliator, and attorney for children; is a frequent lecturer on divorce and child-related issues at law schools and bar associations throughout New England; and among other CLEs, chaired a plenary program in Portland, OR for the ABA Family Law Section, at the AAML Annual Meeting, and at the AAML/AFCC Joint Conference in San Diego, on "Voices and Preferences of Children", and on "Divorce with Special Needs Children" and "Family Law Ethics" at AAML Annual Meetings in Chicago. He has argued numerous cases before the Massachusetts Appeals and Supreme Judicial Courts. Since 2004, he has been recognized as a "Massachusetts Super Lawyer," and, as one of the "Top 100 Lawyers in Massachusetts", and in 2018 received MCLE’s Annual Scholar- Mentor Award for his contribution to Family Law in Ma. He was co-editor of the "Domestic Relations" chapter in Summary of Basic Law, of the Massachusetts Practice Series (published by West Publishing), and is principal editor of "Trying Divorce Cases in Massachusetts", now in its 4th (MCLE, Inc.). He was appointed a Judicial Nominating Commissioner by Gov. Deval Patrick of Massachusetts; was appointed to the statewide taskforce, Voice of the Child, by the Chief Judge of the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court; and, in 2017 was re-appointed to a 3- year term as a Hearing Officer on bar disciplinary matters by the Board of Bar Overseers of Ma., and is on the Board of MAGAL, Inc.
