Profile

Ekaterina Tyagay is an advocate, partner and head of Sensitive Matters Practice at Pen & Paper Attorneys at Law. Specialising in international family and inheritance disputes she acts as an attorney in Russia, a strategist in cross-border cases and an expert in foreign proceedings. Her expertise encompasses divorces, nuptial agreements, children matters (including Hague conventions cases), domestic violence and successions. Ekaterina graduated Summa Cum Laude from Moscow State Law University in 2008 and got her Ph.D in 2011. Before joining Pen & Paper she was a partner at one of the oldest Russian law firms and head of the Family Law department at alma mater. She also lectured comparative Family Law as a visiting professor at Tel Aviv University. Ekaterina is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), Resolution and the International Society of Family Law (ISFL). She is an author of two monographs and numerous publications, a Forbes contributor, a gender equality advocate and a public speaker on topics involving cross-border assistance to private clients, family law, estate planning and prevention of domestic abuse.
