Profile
Michael Horton KC is a barrister, mediator and family arbitrator, specialising in matrimonial finance and family property law. He is a part-time judge of the High Court of the Isle of Man, and of family court in England and Wales, authorised to hear family finance cases. His practice is focussed on high net worth divorces, but he also specialises in property disputes between unmarried couples. He has particular experience of cross-border enforcement and forum disputes, and drafting affidavits of laws for use in foreign proceedings. In addition, he has a substantial practice in advising on and drafting pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, as well as cohabitation contracts. He regularly gives lectures on current developments in family law, including the recent no fault divorce reforms, and emerging trends in post-divorce maintenance. He mostly lives in Norfolk with his family, cats, chickens and bees.
