Profile

Marisa is an English barrister, arbitrator and collaborative lawyer. She also sits as a judge. She is a member of the Family Law Bar Association, Resolution, and Family Law International UK and Ireland and Europe – an organisation for lawyers specialising in family law matters concerning LGBT families.

Marisa’s practice encompasses both the financial elements of relationship breakdown, and the arrangements for children, including abduction and international relocation.  She also advises on jurisdiction, recognition and matters of conflict of laws in respect of both divorce / dissolution and issues of parental responsibility. She has a particular interest in the law relating to family creation and parentage, whether through donor conception or surrogacy.

In addition to advising and representing parties in England and Wales, Marisa’s advice is sought from lawyers in other jurisdictions, and she has provided expert evidence as to English family law to the courts of other countries.
