Profile
Gaiane Shtoian is an expert lawyer in cross-border family law disputes and is extensively experienced in resolving complex family conflicts with a foreign element. She helps to achieve recognition and execution of decisions foreign court judgements enforced in Russia. Gaiane has unique experience in handling matters involving international parental child abduction and child access rights under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. She is the founder of the project "Children Have the Right to Stay Within the Legal Framework" in which lawyers help return children who have illegally been taken over the border by one of their parents. Gaiane is an expert of the Council of Europe and a certified trainer in the European Programme HELP. She delivers advanced training for attorneys, speaks at international and national conferences on family law issues. Gaiane is also a mediator and successfully uses negotiations in resolving family conflicts.
